Changed/fitted tyres on 3 bikes over the long weekend... one of them was only the 16" wheel BMX my granddaughter rides
Rear right indicator cut out on the Superlight - the one where previously the threads were all slack and it was dangling. I assumed the wires had pulled out of the lamp holder but, upon removal from the bike, turns out it was just one of the bullet connectors had popped out! I do love an easy fix ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Spent the whole evening trying to fix the brakes on my project bike.
They kept sticking/binding.
Over the past few days, I'd tried (completely unnecessarily):
1) Rebuilding the master cylinder with a new TRK kit.
2) Bleeding the whole system it upwards and downwards, with one-way valves, a huge amount of DOT4, etc. Not a single bubble left inside.
3) Rebuilding the calipers at least 4 times (the pistons are shinier than a Harleyist's wildest dreams now).
4) Going for several test rides, after each of which the brakes were cooking after going a few miles down the road.
This evening, at the end of my tether, I dismantled the calipers for the umpteenth time and discovered:
I'd assembled them incorrectly (the spring was behind the pads when it should have been in front, so the pistons were pushing out and retracting normally, but the pads were staying out there, and then when more brake was applied the pistons went out and reached the pad and pumped it even more, etc.)
Reassembled, and went for a nutcase ride (came back just now). Getting up to speed and grabbing the brakes like a madman, to try and replicate the issue. Everything is fine! The brake discs when I got home were almost completely cool to the touch.
Should have been more careful when assembling the brakes. |

Slow puncture on Thursday. The Road 5 tire only made this feel apparent when it was under 10psi, and a manoeuvre felt a bit squidgy as I made progress between a few cars No visibly detectable leak so looks like I will be pulling the tire soon for a new valve. Tire was warm, but not enough to stress or damage it.
Forks leaking. Cleaned up and re-sealed. They had new seals at 90k? and have already needed cleaning once. However it seems to do the trick and there was a fucking ton of dirt down there. |

Recently every time I hit a bump I'd hear a clonk of something hitting the bottom of the fuel tank. Finally time to take a peek...
Well this doesn't look good:

And it was meant to be holding up this silver thing (fuel pump?)

Cable ties to the rescue! (Damn you, autofocus!)

Went to a bike meet, various bikes now have "for rectal use only" stickers on them.
Stickers might also have been stuck to cars. And road signs. And number plates. And bollards. And front doors. And letter boxes. And children's play areas. And lots of other things.

Broke it (yesterday).
Clutch arm loose, cable still in tact.
Luckily while setting off from traffic lights.
Recovered home, was too far away and urban to ride without a clutch.
Stripping it down tonight, joy.
=update=
My shaft is damaged at the base/tip, painful either way you call it.

Exciting summer season?!?
You people at Leatherick.com get excited when doing unspeakable things to small furry creatures? That's pretty fucked up!

Thanks" |
