I have massive stains on my white walls and after trying to clean them for ages I feel like there must be a better method.

Used hot water mixed with car shampoo, scrubbed for ages, can't get anything off the sides properly. Also tried muc-off decreaser and the basic stuff. Doesn't really help. If I keep the way I was going it will take me literally all day.

You can do it in 15 seconds my way.

Pour out a capful of white spirit into a ... cap. Dip a bit of wire wool (any grade, but the finer the better) into it to soak it up. Rub the wire wool over the stained bit of tyre (not too much - just slightly abrade it and get it wet). Then take a dry piece of cloth and wipe it away. The stain and the white spirit will come away from the tyre.

I did this when respraying the gold wheels on my project bike with proper chip-resistant gold rim paint without taking off the tyre or doing anything silly like putting playing cards around the rim. I let the gold paint go all over the tyre. This method (wire wool, white spirit and dry cloth) works.

Try those sponge-backed scouring pads and some soap.
