They also like cheese. She goes through 100g of cheese a day as she's off her rocker.

She is going to blame me for the problems she is about to face, I know it.

Pets At Home sells rats at just £12 each. They're brown (Norvegicus) rats like the ones she likes, but the wildness has been bred out of them - they're very friendly. The leaflets they give out in the shop are informative as well, and you don't really need to give them any specific pet store food.. Might be a nice gesture to get her a couple as well as a cage by way of compensation, so she can carry on her habit of feeding and playing with them indoors.

Don't encourage her!! Brian and all her other ratty friends are going to be poisoned so showing her how they can be domestic pets isn't going to help the situation. Laughing

Compensating her makes it sound like King29 has done something wrong by not liking the plague of rats she's inflicting on the neighbourhood.

And certainly don't do anything until environmental health and pest control from the council have successfully cleared up the mess she's made.

OK. I bought some of this from Amazon and it arrived today.

Rat & Mouse Killer Poison 1kg - Formula 'B' from Pest Expert

I've shoved most of it behind the washing machine to see what happens.

Also I got a metal swing bin and emptied the acid out of 2 old car batteries into it and got a plank of wood with 2 nails facing down and hooked it onto the bin lid. Peanut butter all over lid and spread it on the plank. This is my sde of the fence. If Brian goes up the plank or any of his mates, they will meet a slow eroding death, that's the plan anyway.

Enviromental have have not showed up yet and neither has the housing association. Wife is off work this week and has informed me, she is a curtain twitcher.

You really need to be taking photos of this. With some rat photos enlarge the rats to make it look like a super plague.
While you're there, take a photo of the old woman looking like Les Dawson in drag. Both of those will guarantee a sale of the story to The Metro or Sunday Sport.

What the FUCK!
What sort of sick bastard thinks this is the way to go!

I'm down with getting rid of them with poison, lethal traps or even shooting them, if you're are good enough, but that shit is just sick!

It won't work, rats aren't stupid.

I'd suggest being cautious about putting quantities of acid in metal bins with a peanut butter plank when with any luck someone from environmental health will soon be having a look around.

Does it matter? what do you think Rat Poison does to their insides, inside eroding/outside eroding same difference. Most Rat Poisons make them bleed internally to death from what I've read.

Death is death.

I've been and checked this morning and no one took the bait, you were right Ste, rats are not stupid.

Acid tipped down drain, washed bin out, I'll leave it there and if any fall in I can always take the bin to the local park and release them there.

I can do that, I've seen about 20 of them last night before I stuffed the poison behind the washing machine. As soon as I open the gate they leg it.

Time for another call to environmental health to ask when they're going to be able to visit as you saw about 20 of them last night and are getting increasingly concerned about the situation.

I'd be sticking some in that dainty blue feeding dish - that's what they're used to feeding from (and trust, unwittingly).

If you're going to dispatch them, just do it humanely, i.e. fast (cricket bat, terrier, spade, baulk of timber etc).

Acid tipped down drain,

WTF. Hope the drain is salt glazed clay drain and not plastic underground pipe with the rubber seals or you’ll be having more than rats to deal with.

I don’t know about the drain. She has an outside tap and we don’t. She always goes ASDA shopping Wednesdays, I swilled bin out and put down her drain.
