Close to trading in my R1 for a ZZR, looking for a more relaxed riding position that's still exciting.

Question is, which one?

Budget will just about stretch to a ZZR1400 Gen 1, but are the 14s much better than the 1200s?

I would recommend a 2nd gen 1400 over a 1st. 1st gen is a bit of a clanky bus, not awful at all but the 2nd gen is a much better bike with a lot of things ironed out. That and the 1st gen is a fucking nightmare for self servicing, there are around 12 panels to take off just to get to the fucking battery and don't even mention changing a spark plug....jesus.

The 1200 is still a good bike, but be very aware of the oil starvation issue with them (spun bearing and kerboom) EDIT: Scap that I'm actualy on about the 1100.

Thanks, one of my old bosses got a 2nd gen recently - he has been telling me to save for a 2nd but didn't say why.

Sounds like the 12 it is then.
