Indeed you can... now!

But historically people weren't as enlightened. I might go so far as saying not until "The Age of Enlightenment" Wink

Strictly speaking one might look back at the philosophers of Ancient Greece to see an an example of people really working out how to live without Gods. However, the establishment of the time didn't want such thoughts spilling out to the general populous. Socrates might be a good example of "too much enlightenment" being found guilty of not believing in the Gods of the state. (My emphasis.)

From the Reformation to the Enlightenment, Western societies were steered towards Truth and not the ignorance that previously consigned the likes of Galileo to be tortured.

I can't say that Christianity is a great thing now or even in the past but it has helped make the world we live in today and we should at least respect that.

I do find it somewhat ironic that in the last few pictures, the author has chosen to depict Christianity, rather than another religion or religions which would lead to subsequent death threats.

I had a christian upbringing, opted out as I became a teenager. I won't deny it gives one a list of rules to help live in harmony with my fellow man up to a point, but all that wailing, and talking to invisible people does my head in. Can't stand religion now, and why they kill each other for their invisible friends is beyond me, seems the human brain is evolving into Schizo mush.

There's a God-shaped hole in every human head as evidenced by the fecking Vegans wanting their "belief system" legally recognised as on par with religion Sad
