Hi.

I have a Honda cb400 super four 1992 and the speedo isn't working.

I have replaced the speedo drive as that wasn't working and the trip meter and mileage is now going up but the mph needle still isn't working

Does anyone have any advice on what the problem is or where I can get it fixed?

EDIT: Fixed

Only problem with the clocks now is when I turn the ignition on the temp gauge just goes straight up to the end at hot and stays there

Thanks in advance

No they don't, every now and then I have to hit them to get the rev counter to work though.

i dont know much about the innards of clocks. but i would think they are pretty precise, and not very user servicable.

i've got a broken set of CB400N clocks you can have if you want. they work, but would need a new screen and needle.

Well thanks for the help Matt I managed to get the speedo working

The only problem now is the temp gauge goes straight up to hot and stays there all the time.

Apologies for awakening a very old thread, but if you are still around.... (I have a 93/4 one)

I opened up my clocks because there were some loose plastic bits inside and the rear covers didn't hold.
The long plastic bit where the covers screwed in was broken, glued it back and happy days.

When putting things back together I turned the ignition on halfway through to check if I blew any of the bulbs, which caused a fuse to blow (stupid I know). Today I put a new fuse, so the dash lights work again, (xcept for the speedo one but might not be related).

ANYWAYS. as I passed my test this morning I took the bike today, and I don't think my speedo works right, it's very "vague". It doesn't go below ~10 mph, unless bike is off, and then seems to just slowly wander up or down slowly Sad not sure if I can trust it, some bits I think it was about right, some I think I was doing 50 and it was showing like 40.

TL;DR
So, how did you get the speedo working??

Speedo converter was over tightened causing needle to be sluggish
Rev counter has recently stopped working intermittently.
