Anyone else do this?
When I park up 9 times out of 10 I put the bike in first then just flick the kickstand down, automatically killing the engine, then release the clutch. That way I know its not going to roll if on uneven ground since its in first.
Back on the bike, kickstand up, pull in clutch and start the engine, never even use neutral.

Or in reverse: forget you left it in gear... start button dead... decide to kick it and almost launch yourself into a wall...

Nope, never done that, no sir!

Parking on a slope use the kill switch unless you have three hands.

Never used it. Even when the Viffer decided to spit an oil pipe and give a smoke cloud Q from the bond movies would have a powerwank over, I turned it off with the key.

That said, it was drummed into me in the US (I learned to ride on the road there) that it was an emergency kill switch, primarily for others to use if you are ptoatoed into street furniture, another vhicle etc.

It varies for me. Sometimes I want to kill the engine but keep the lights on, so I use the kill switch.

For some reason my brain read that as "sometimes I want to kill the engine... sometimes I want to kill the pedestrians"

Which dovetails nicely with the "Q" comment: surely the "kill" switch should be for side mounted machine guns? Probably a factory option for Harleys and Indians in 'murica Very Happy

I only use other peoples, at the lights, as they are turning green.
