https://www.thenewamerican.com/world-news/north-america/item/21090-sex-abuse-by-un-peace-troops-becoming-global-scandal#disqus_thread

Quote:
In response to the mushrooming scandals surrounding predatory UN troops who rape and abuse civilians, the tyrant-dominated global outfit is reportedly working a plan for paternity testing to uncover so-called “peacekeeper babies.” But instead of truly dealing with the grotesque revelations, the UN is busy persecuting whistleblowers who exposed the horrors while plotting ever-grander “peace” missions by its military forces.

"A Kosovo victims support group reported that of the local prostitutes, a third were under 14, and 80% were under 18"

" In Haiti, the Sri Lankan peacekeepers wanted girls and boys as young as 12 for sex. "I did not even have breasts," said Victim No. 1, a girl."

How far would you like to go with this ?

These are UN troops by the way, the ones we pay our EU taxes towards .......

While I would not want to trivialise any of the accusations, that link from Duhawkz is a pretty agenda driven tirade.

Look at the twist they put on Kenya trying to reduce the birth rate in the country.

They always try and overthink these things: send less food, sell more guns... simples!

It doesn't take too much digging to see what drives Alex Newman. He is a Far Right isolationist, religious fundamentalist, anti-abortion, anti Obamacare nutter of the worst kind because he comes across as credible.

MDMA fell for it straight away - he put the Pakistani example first in his article, so one automatically reads the rest of it with Pakistanis in the subconscious. He then puts the French bit in because he hates the fact that France has a left wing government. If you read around the story you will realise that the Pakistanis and the French are no better or worse than any other country when it comes to allegations of rape by UN peacekeepers.

He is a master of propaganda for the American fundamentalist far Right.

In 2017 these were the numbers. Don't know what they are at the moment so apologies for that. Notice anything significant? Generally speaking they come from the regions that need them to keep the peace... I appreciate that not many are on the India/Pakistan border at the moment, but that is the only blot in my logic...

Ethiopia (8,326)
India (7,471)
Pakistan (7,161)
Bangladesh (6,772)
Rwanda (6,146)
Nepal (5,131)
Senegal (3,617)
Burkina Faso (3,036)
Ghana (2,972)
Egypt (2,889)
Indonesia (2,867)
China (2,639)
Tanzania (2,341)
Nigeria (2,170)
Niger (1,871)
Togo (1,661)
Morocco (1,607)
Chad (1,489)
Uruguay (1,457)
South Africa (1,427

Its nothing to do with being 'apologist'. More an ability to see through Alex Newman's clever anti-everything but what he believes in propaganda.... He has clearly taken you in though....

It boils down to this: rape is bad...

Is it actually necessary to go further than that and point out the ethnicity of the perpetrators? If commanders were covering up then that points to a systemic problem within the UN Peacekeepers organisation. Or is it the case that certain ethnicities have a unique ability to corrupt such organisations?!

MDMA what are you suggesting as a solution to the problem?

I'd suggest trying to convict all those guilty of rape whilst working for the UN, but I'm not sure whether this would suit you and Alex Newman, as it wouldn't accord with your anti-Pakistan agenda.

I doubt anyone on this forum has contributed anything to that. Doesn't stop the usual subjects yapping at your ankles thinking you have though.

So you're finally admitting that you haven't donated anything to Yaxley Lennon?

Getting back on topic (for a change) if we say "no mussies in UN plz as they iz all rapey rapey"

Great... but that doesn't fix the problem the UN has: the system has allowed/encouraged/covered their actions and it's the system needs to change.

Where there's a hint of corruption even our own police pull in an outside force to do the investigation just to give a vague notion of impartiality.

This all has the same feel as the Oxfam scandal Sad
