Looking around my area it looks spot on. I use the online version of the council’s definitive map to be sure - this matches up with the ones I have looked into.

For the area of the East Riding, parts of North Yorkshire and also the Yorkshire wolds the mapping is not only wildly inaccurate but utterly non-existent. I ride with the East Yorkshire TRF and I have a relatively good idea of where can and can't be ridden, I know where the absolutely kosher BOATs are, I know where there are keenly contested sections, and I know where the TROs are. None - NONE - of those are featured on the mapping linked to. Basically, nothing is mentioned. Not a single one. And there are quite some miles that can be safely and legally covered.

Hmm!
It doesn't fare well around my area either. Saying that, how was the map compiled? It looks to me as if it's been made using input from local riders editing it? The reason I say it is there appear to be 'zones' or 'bunches' of trails. As if people with local knowledge are inputting what they know from their locations?
Lots of routes I'd known about but had never looked fully into including around The Cheviot foot hills.
Makes me want to get those off road wheels for my bike..

Yup. I lead beginners up a lane which at the far end has a no cars and no motorcycles sign. We have a rebuttable presumption of vehicular rights, and I carry a copy of the signed sealed PTRO which permanentrly closed it, but exempts motorcycles, they rushed to put the signage up before the PTRO was a done deal. I approach from the south end, as there is no sign at that end, as we cross the border from another authority.

Been having an email ding-dong about the status and signage for 14 months with the highway dept, trying to get them to remove it, think I'm almost there. Laughing
