Thinking obliquely, is your engine the same basic thing as another model's, e.g.:

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/827028/Yamaha-2010-Xmax-Yp125r.html?page=133

Edit: As I think I've said, I have no experience with your bike, & I've just realised that URL is the same as the one I posted before (but a different page).

I'd FAR rather have my tappets a bit loose rather than a bit tight....

Many thanks again, I have today found a site called Louis-moto.co.uk which has the specifications for the 1998 to 2000 Yamaha majesty, I inlet 0.10-0.14 , exh 0.16 - 0.20 mm. So should be able to crack on. Will need a new or decent second hand piston, rings pin, circlips , barrel and gaskets. Appreciate your advice and help.

Hm, are you using "Pedparts" as a baseline?

https://www.pedparts.co.uk/product/2802/cylinder-kit--yamaha-majesty-125cc

£77 (carriage?) "Kit is supplied with Barrel, Piston, Rings, Gudgeon Pin, Circlips & Gaskets"

Have had RMS stuff in the past , and it is Not Good, undecided at this point, genuine Yamparts are megabucks. I M currently refurbishing a very good eBay , genuine Yamaha head , but just need the barrel , piston gasket stuff.

Difficult. There's an engine on eBay, "runs", but you never know what excitement that will provide. 80 Squiddicks ISTR. Second-habd barrels with watermarks... um. What's bad about RMS stuff (RMS seems to be a buyer/distributor of OE & pattern parts)?

30 years working on cars and bikes? Boy you probably need sleep lol!

Yamie Majesty is covered by the generic Haynes twist and go manual, there's also the genuine Yamaha workshop manual, and either retail for under £20... if you are too cheap or too lazy to spend that little to do the job right, then I don't rate the chances on corners not being cut elsewhere on a £200+ bits bill job........ pause for thought..... GO BUY THE BOOK! Price is a drop in the ocean and saves SO many stoopid questions and if you are SUCH an experienced long suffering spanner monkey you should know this!

Had an RMS starter, Chinese manufacture, lasted 3 months , replaced with an e bay second hand Yamaha part which has been spot on. The online manuals you mentioned , manuals lib are spot on and have correct and accurate information. I used them to rebuild the forks, and put new bearings in the steering head yoke. It’s just the 1998 to 2000 cylinder head is not covered in them, however I now have the correct torques and tightening sequences for this assembly via my local bike shop who somehow had access to this . It’s a great moped despite being 19 years old, frame, body panels, wiring loom, radiator and cooling system all stripped out and frame repainted, so all is good. Thanks for your help .

Thanks Riejufixing for your help, bike now up and running thanks to manuals lib online and e bay bits, job done. Those geriatric manuals / generic manuals totally useless . Thank you again 👍
