<addendum> There is of course the alternative to new or old... almost new! Something a year old has probably had all the serious kinks ironed out and yet (check the mileage!) not had a chance to be completely thrashed. |
This is true, in the last few months, I've picked up a 2nd hand 125 for me, that was 12 months old, with 40 miles on the clock, and, a 3 month old 125 for the nipper, with only 25km on the clock, both for appreciably less than the new cost. Howver, they are more the exception than the norm. Either way, i would still be wary about buying a 2nd and 125, don't buy unless you are sure, and have seen the bike/scooter. ____________________ Beware what photos you upload, or link to on here, especially if you have family members on them |

Just got a scruffy Suzuki EN 125 with 20k miles and is a 2005 model.
Got it for £450 and has a years mot.
Will check it properly later but should last the year. Think I'll just stick to 30/40mph roads though which is all I need to be fair.

Stuck a new air filter in it and its riding significantly better. (First thing to arrive in the post from Fleabay)
Hard to gauge if it's actually a power issue though due to the lack of a working speedo.
Once I get the speedo working I'll know. I suspect it's because these bikes are pretty slow acceleration wise past 40mph,
That being said I still think there is a issue with the carbs as its very noisy (I suspect the noise is coming from the carbs)
Idk least I will be busy the weekend.
Considering how bad the air filter was it could also just be manky old oil and an old oil filter.
It's getting me to work and back though so I am happy.
Probably also doesnt help that I have not rode a 125 in over 5 years. So a power issue could just be nothing other then me not being used to a slow bike.
It's a fun little bike though; Probably enjoying this bike more then my 600RR. ____________________ Bikes: Previous Bikes: Piaggio x8 125: 2012/2013, YBR 125: 2013/2013 BMW R1150GS 2013/2017, Honda CBR600RR 2017/2017, Honda CB500 2018/2018, Suzuiki Address 110cc 2019/2020, BMW R1200GS 2021-2023

As you wish but she is not for sale.
Dunno if you can tell because its blurry but my fuel line is see-through.
I know they are black standard but didn't think nothing of it. Flicked through the manual just now and discovered that with this model the fuel filter is not inside the tank but supposed to on the outside on the fuel line.
So someone has obviously thrown the fuel filter away. So blocked jets are probably causing the power issue.
Also pretty sure it's been knicked at least once due to the state of the wiring and the new ignition barrel.
Also looks like it's spent most of it's life on the pavement.
Despite the state of the electrics the only thing that doesn't work is the fuel gauge.
