How to legitimately use the word 'and' five times in a row in a sentence.

The proprietor of the Dog and Duck was considering using two apostrophes in the banner

Between Dog and and and and and Duck.

Well I thought it was interesting Sad

roman gladiators

if a gladiator lost a battle and died in the arena when they left they were stripped naked and a red hot poker shoved up there arse to make sure they were dead as lots tried to fake it
the clothes and armour were often given to the next gladiator in the line to wear

they also went on the slit the throat to make sure

and the reason French eat snails and frogs legs

was because wine making wasn't a well paid job and the vines used to be attacked by snails so the people working in vinyards had to go out and pull the snails off, some poor bugger was so hungry they decided to eat them
the frogs legs were a similar thing but they normally ate the snails, no snails,, and there were a shit load of starving frogs so they ate them instead

Something that I found out today: magpies are able to recognize human faces and even hold grudges against ones that they don’t like

Explains why the little bstards keep crapping on my front door Mad

All corvids not only have excellent memory but they live a long time. 20 odd years in some cases.

A study which involved a person wearing a face mask and deliberately scare feeding crows on the university campus was undertaken decades ago. The (now) professor returned to the university and put the same mask back on and just walked through the grounds to be greeted with warning calls from the resident crows, some of which were not even born at the time of the original study.

Some folk have a 'thing' against magpies and crows and the like. Often cited is the old chestnut that they're to blame for the loss of songbirds.

No, the replacement of hedges for off-road parking and the general 'tidying' up of people gardens is a factor that is overlooked. Nice dense hedge and the magpies can't get in.

Swans have good memories as well. Feed then once from your boat and they come back and tap on the hull or even windows until you get up and feed them again.

Ducks are much more polite. They just quack.

Its not until you have to use a residential NHS facility that you discover the levels of incompetence, lack of communication and indeed apathy that exist.

Which, out of interest, is exactly how Edward II is supposed to have died in 1327 (the poker bit).

Wipers on visors? Impossible because reasons.
Torches on breaker bars? Improbable because breaker bars are easily mistaken for torches.
