Is it worth just getting an Amazon Fire stick and putting Kodi on that?

i have a small PC that i use in the main room.
however i purchased one of the fire sticks to be used around the house. it works with Kodi just fine. its easy to install and you can also use netflixs and amazon etc.

Anyone else just got bored and go fully legit.

I can't be arxed anymore. I've binned the sky, got Netlflix and Prime Video, no more messing around with updates, searching forums.

It's neat, it works on all my devices and has language and audio options. (I'm a version original kind of person).

I get it when you are younger/skint , I used to be the same with copying games.

Yeah I got bored with Kodi - sitting there waiting for sources, then finding one, only to see it was a cinema recording or a video of Rick Astley.

How do you find Prime Video? I'm looking at it for The Expanse series 4 anyway, but not sure what's included. A lot of the box sets I like were on Fox, which you can get on Prime Video, but it's not clear whether this sort of thing is an additional service.

Considering I got prime for the postage and delivery service I have started using the other services a lot. Video, OK it's probably not quite up to netflix but there is plenty on there for no extra charge.

It's a godsend when the grand kids are over as well.

I have joined the modern world and now have alexa playing stuff from Amazon prime music most of the day.

Oh yes, Amazon prime is streaming 20 premier matches this year for no extra charge so fcuk sky Dance!

one of our girls has Amazon prime and the other has Netflix.
so all the devices are set up with both.

i do however still download a lot of content via the newsgroups using Sonarr etc, but i suspect that's a thing that will decline in time.

As you say its the same with games.
If i want a game and dont fancy the £40 price tag.
i still it on my wish list and wait for it to be on sale.
this week i purchased Railway Empire for £11 or there about.

when Kodi was officiall released on the xbox one, last year I think?

I pissed about with it and got it working, then slowly over time it was less and less good, and then I got fed up fiddling about with it and gave up.

I tried Kodi and, while it's fine for the IT literate, nobody else could get on with it.

I went with Google Chromecast on the TV and a combination of Serviio (you could substitute Plex I think) and BubbleUPNP.

BubbleUPNP gives you an phone app that gives any media server a reasonable simple GUI and transcodes on the fly to the Chromecast whatever you throw at it.

But then I'm old skool: torrents and vpn Smile

Recently ditched Kodi for Plex.

Much better for cross device syncing, even though you have to pay for the Android App..

Sonarr + Radarr + Plex Thumbs Up

I am thinking to buy 4k firestick but also confuse between firestick 4k and Fire Tv Cube.
