So I get this email from YouTube this morning.

Tried to access it tonight and now get this

Any idea why? does anyone have any experience with this? the content I uploaded was all family safe. I filled the form in but thus far have heard nowt.

Content was 5 videos.

3 of me with helmet cam on ZX9 around Stafford.
1 of me showing new cans on ZX9
1 of mate modding an air rifle (not illegal).

Someone will have reported that video, they aren't trawling through in the hope of finding things to ban, however if the title has gun in it possibly flagged automatically.

They over-reacted hugely to some recent livestreaming of a shooting incident by banning the option to filter searches by upload time - all searches - for several weeks.
Must be seen to be doing something.
A year or two back there was a huge fuss about people doing stupid and tasteless stunts for views and the reaction was to make monetizing video almost impossible for most users you now must have consistent viewing hours over 35 day period and 1000+ subscribers.
Conveniently this immediately gave them a profit boost due to de-monetising 90% of accounts overnight.

Or have you used copyrighted music on your videos? They take a dim view of that.

Or the video was intended for people who've got a firearms license.

There seem to be plenty of other videos showing how to get more power from those air rifles so I agree with Stinky in that it was the music that caused YouTube to bitch slap you.

With music copyright they will mute it or block it - you don't get banned unless most of your videos are like that.
Copyright music policy has relaxed quite a bit with very few blocked worldwide, some in specific countries especially Germany.
Usually you just get a note that adverts for the song might appear alongside

Have you had any strikes to your youtube account before?

You can appeal their decision but before trying that, I'd spend more time trying to figure out how they think you broke their policies about spam, deceptive practices and scams.

It's the gun. They've really cracked down on 'firearms' content in the last few months. It's affected a few of the channels that I subscribe to.
