I thought I'd share my Youtube show on retro vehicles.
We're four episodes in and the latest was a feature on RADwood Cool Thumbs Up

Channel videos here

Enjoy!

Not bad production, but you need to do your research a bit better, I started watching the Camaro video and there were so many inaccuracies, I turned it off after a couple of minutes and it put me off watching the others.

Might be OK if you just like looking at cars, but people who know about them will want to put their fist through the screen.

Always good to have feedback but kind of worthless if I don’t know what you mean, specifically.

I had a look last night.

The presentation looks very polished, and it seems you took some training in how to present things on camera, which is good. From the look of things, you have plans for this project, you're going for a professional approach and hope for mainstream momentum, which confuses me a little because the New Retro Wave thing (logos and intros everywhere) is niche - not really 80s/90s but how the 80s/90s were imagined to be (e.g. pastel suits but no tennis sweatbands, NRW music which is modern synthwave and doesn't resemble music made in that period, etc.) It's just that NRW seems to detract a lot from the exhibits (the cars) so it's probably more for the NRW crowd than petrolheads. Don't know much about those cars, but I remember them all.

I'm not much of a car fan and doubt I belong in the target audience
but it felt high on style low on substance to me.
The effects and rapid cuts quickly got annoying and I learned nothing I didn't already know.

This must be filmed and edited by pro. And it was.
I read your post about writing reviews on old motorcycles, but you look like a pro reviewer.
I found a comment "NRW is branching out".
This channel seems to be a branch from channel "NewRetroWave" which is focused on 80's and 90's musics based in US.
That's why each videos have similar logos and intros, and channel is based in US according to description.
This may be targeting "NewRetroWave" subscribers, but I personally wanted to listen to engine note without music when running.
I liked the last video because I could hear from rare car owners like stalion and SVX(they are now rare in Japan too).
Car select scene from porsche video was like Sega Outrun Thumbs Up .
Because these videos are made by pros, these must cost a lot to make videos Shocked .

It’s a strange old thing, personal taste. There are more popular uploaders of car videos on Youtube who literally talk the whole video, through a go pro without any audio setup.
So this isn’t to make you think “best car show ever”, this is something cool to look at, more music video than factual car programme.

Originally I didn’t really want any “presenting”, it’s been done to death and you can tell, especially with the Americans that they love the sound of their own voice.
The idea was less talk, more action. I have found the feedback to be 95% positive, the only negative comments online being that there wasn’t enough car engine noise and maybe some more details on the car but It would be a twenty minute episode if we went to town on it.

People also tend to think because this looks good, it must cost a lot. This is currently being made on a shoe string but with a very talented team.

I’ve worked for New Retro Wave writing about cars for a few years now and a friend of mine pushed me to make a video.
I didn’t really have the interest in it because I wasn’t comfortable presenting but I made a pilot episode for NRW and the guys in the states loved it.
No funding, just passion for the cars and a lot of hard work. I don’t think people realise how difficult this is trying to get a crew together and a guest, with car, to make an episode.
I’ve managed to do it though, all on a tight budget, we’re 4 episodes in and it’s all been positive. I could have started a channel by myself but I wouldn’t have the rights to make the videos with the music and this was key for me. I wanted to make stylised videos of me driving with synthwave, 80s style tracks. It’s naturally progressed into what it is now, there isn’t really much of a plan except a line-up of decent retro cars. I’ve now been approached by a number of classic car owners so we have something to tick along with for now.

Thanks for all the feedback Kawashima. I was invited to do two reviews for motorcycles for that company. I did post them on here but I was slated for it, including a spelling mistake. Classic BCF. Laughing
