Ok, so this 2001 cb600f hornet has been pro-tuned
Has been runnjng lovely for a year or more
Is ridden daily.
Over the last couple of months has started odd behavious.

After riding hard for a long time, it idles very low and can even stall.
At the same time, the exhaust sohnd chabges and becomes.. slappy/thuddy

... actually, its now doing it after 20 mins of riding.
Its water cooled, and has a fan. Ive actually bypassed the temp switch to make sure its on.

Valve clearances were set in July ‘18 and checked in May ‘19
Fresh oil and plugs on Saturday.

Heres a pic of plugs, and vid of noises

Err.. vid as promised.

Also, i associate the sounds with a low fuel problem
I have popped the fuel cap to see if this helps, but no.
I have a clear inline filter that is clean

Baffles! in the exhaust can breaking up /restricting flow.

Also does the vacuum fuel tap work as it should.

Well, could be baffles or cat, or both. Same result, and having watched the vid I'd say it's still most likely.

Inside the cat or the end can, there's a chamber designed to allow gasses through a substance to do 'something' to the exhaust. In the cat, it's a metal designed to break down the nasties to allow birds to breathe the fumes in, in the end can it's a fibre substance designed to reduce noise.

Both should provide a little back-pressure to the motor, but not much. When you put an aftermarket can on, typically you remove back pressure, increase the flow rate, motor can get more gasses out, so you can put more in, bike goes faster (and gets hotter) etc, etc.

If any of these filtering devices break down, they have very few places to go, and being solid and not gasses - will accumulate in a place.

If I were you, I'd start slipping off the end can and looking in there. If you shake it and it rattles, that's your issue. Sometimes you can open them up, more likely though you can just tip the crud out the (incoming) end, refit and you're sorted. For a while.

Google and Youtube will likely help you, look for 'repacking baffles' or 'cat breaking down'.

Feels like it's running out of fuel, works ok for 20 minutes then plays up?

Regulator/rectifier.

Alrighty update time.

I got straight pipes, so i researched the possibility of a decaying cat. I have 4 (one in each header).

My instruments (daytona velona - love em) have a voltmeter, not seeing anything unusual there.

Will report back.

Starting to suspect its about fuel delivery
