I wouldn't. It'll be laggy as hell in the real world. It only seems to make sense if you want to play games on a phone or laptop, over 5G, when its available properly. I see it as very second rate, but obviously better than nothing, and better than draining your laptop in 30 mins at 50FPS.

I dunno my mates got an nvidia sheild and that streams game and that seems to perform well.

The issue for me is the lack of the titles, if thats the list of games there planning to launch then they'll be sadly lacking compared to the consoles.

It won't be... you can assume, but it'll be pretty quick, all built on Google infrastructure. They woudln't decide to push Destiny 2 if there was any lag, its a P2P game for PvP...

I will trial it as I can then play Destiny at work.

Streaming to a tablet from a PC in the same house doesn't introduce as much latency as travelling all the way to Google and back again.

And Indeed I will assume, but I assume based on physics, whereas you assume based on computer games. It will NOT be built on Google infrastructure, it will be built on BTs infrastructure and Virgin's infrastructure because Google doesn't have its own internet infrastructure.

Stadia is great for the big corporations though. That way they get a constant income stream, and they still own all of the hardware and control all of the IP. You? Well you own nothing! Ideally for them you would hand all of your data over too which they can mine at their leisure.

All of which have a very very direct link to Google's datacentres.

Rephrase. It will be hosted on Googles insanely under utilised and over engineered resilient network. It will be delivered through your internet connection, which unless you are fucking poverty ridden or live in the arse end of the country, you'll have 30Mb all day long with absolute minimal trouble getting to Googles infrastructure.

Connections to one of their many DNS servers worldwide is showing as sub 8ms on a generic BT VDSL connection here with firewalling.

Connecting to their client server to authenticate my Chromebook is sub 7ms.

This is a 40Mb BT VDSL, round trip is quicker than my TV response time. Connecting to my current hosted game server in Azure is 11.4ms average, highs of 14.3 and lows of 9.2.

It'll be fine, OnLive was fine and that was back in 2012.

I assume based on my networking and infrastructure background, games second. Given the fact BOTH of those pay my bills... I'm quite confident it'll be fine Very Happy hence I have the option to trial it.

I'm not doing anything bad, have my data, its easily available anyway. I'd suggest never using a PC or phone if that is a worry though. It is an issue for those who care too much, me... fuck it. Enjoy life. Laughing

You own nothing but have access to everything.
