Not at all. I am not ashamed of my immigrant status, either when I lived in Devon, France or now in the US. I couldn't give a shit where you or anybody else comes from or goes to.

I don't care for your political stance but I believe you are entitled to your opinions and, believe it or not, I will give you the time of day and listen to them. I may occasionally give you sarcastic responses but I am too smug to demean myself to resort to name calling, that doesn't get anybody anywhere.

We should apply mpd methods of logic and take into account Jimmy Saville was also a Yorkshireman and therefore conclude Thailand should make sure its mortuaries are properly secured before mpd lands there.

Yeah, I've heard this myth that they spend hours every day marking homework, or preparing for lessons. I suppose this myth is needed so people don't realise they only work for 6 hours a day, 195 days a year.

I'm not sure when my teacher mates do these extra 40 hours a week, because they always seem to be down the pub.

It's just how all union led, left wing state workers behave. They all whine like a drain that they're over worked, be it Junior Doctors, Firemen, Police of teachers.

When the prizes are dished out on here, you're going to get more than your fair share.

Great post.

I was just thinking today that Jeremy was playing a blinder by keeping her locked away somewhere.

I wonder where on the stage he'll stand. Probably on the far right.

Of the many reasons to dislike Diane Abbott, and indeed to fear the prospect of her in charge of a Ministry, having wayward offspring is pretty low on the list. In fact I'm more surprised she actually has offspring.

Regarding "ad hominem," you have to wonder whether the forum's arch-misanthrope's "mates" who are teachers, boat-police, etc. are simply a construct to support his prejudiced assertions. He's habitually rude so I make no apology.

If he now wants to block me again I wish he'd do it properly and stop taking sneaky peeks.

Predictably. That seems to be the price for expressing an opposite view in the same manner.

It was something to do with losing his job at an embassy I think. One word: nepotism Smile How many kids does she have? Some part of my subconscious is telling me not to ask google...

What we need is to tag the end of search requests with "asking for a friend" and then google knows not to add it to your advertising preferences Very Happy

There was a Labour person on the today program showing her ignorance and digging a hole.

They claimed that "Labour’s plan for real change will save average families over £6,700" the presenter asked her to justify what this meant. How many families have they calculated will actually save £6700?

She tried bluff, misdirection then quoting meaningless statistical terms and finally saying that she couldn't possibly calculate how much each individual family would save.

The one question the presenter didn't ask which I would have is "So if the average family will save £6700, that means that half of families will save MORE than £6700?"

It is a stupid calculation based upon an assumed number of children needing childcare plus an assumed number of adults buying train season tickets. Now we know what Diane Abbott has been working on in the background Laughing Laughing Laughing

I honestly believe Labour would smash this election without Corbyn or Abbott.
There again on the other side of the coin, the Conservatives are going to win it with the biggest buffoon since screaming Lord Sutch which is a terrible indictment of British politics at one of the most divisive times in our history (fcuk, did I say diverse, Sick I feel ill)

Even Swinsons tit size (tm Diggs) isn't going to swing it for her. Cool

And America think Tump is a problem.

It's not like buying votes with wild promises was invented by Labour. It's the standard tactic of the Tories. Does anyone here actually believe what Johnson is selling?

I don't believe any politicians. However.

Regardless of what they promise, as a generalisation, labour take more, spend even more and interfere more.

The Tories take less, spend less and interfere less.

The Lib Dems stand about wringing their hands achieving nothing.

I was taken by just how definite and yet utterly inaccurate the £6700 claim labour made was. The wishful thinking school of economics of assume the absolute best case scenario and claim this is the normal. Maybe they should buy every family in the UK a lottery ticket and claim that average families could be better off by up to £32 million each under Labour.

Most politicians keep their lies and outrageous assertions much more general rather than painting themselves into a corner.
