Kerb weight 172kg,
it was the colour combo more than anything that appealed to me, and is a great ride comfy ride Thumbs Up

not too bad on handling, and pretty good on the twisties, still running in the engine so not gone much over 60 for any length of time, but will sit quite happy at 50-60 Thumbs Up

I didn't know UM motorcycle till now. Googled and found there were larger versions (like 300) in other countries, that may be the reason why this bike has a large body size. It's interesting your bike has liquid cooled engine and 18 litre tank (should have a long tank mileage!).
300(280)cc version

The others are mainly found in India, and have got a bad rep regarding quality and running problems, the 125's are made in China specifically for the european market, and although share the same style and dimensions have a much better build quality, she had her 1st service today, and i asked the mechanic about the oil condition, he said it was clear just on the verge of changing colour, no metal filings or debris in the oil that came out, you can't say much about them being made from cheese and dropping to bits Thumbs Up

Thanks for your response. I like the idea of large 125s(like Varadero).
I noticed yours was made in China but looks very good in the colour scheme as you mentioned. I hope yours keeps good condition for a long time.

Blimey. My 404 weighs less than 130kg! Would be interesting having a ride of one of those to see how they handle.
Is there brandy in the front flask?

It's got a nice classic cruiser look about it, and weight actually on a small low c of g bike isn't that much of an issue, not for stability and plantedness on open roads, or for sustainable cruising speed etc.

I do prefer the sound of 97kg and 24bhp, but high speed road stability and comfort isn't going to be comparible.

She has got the styling of a classic Harley softail, and the colour is the main reason i bought her, out of all the cruiser style bikes UM are the only ones that had this particular style and colour combo, despite her weight and size 90" in length she is a joy to ride she is well balanced at high and at slow speeds less than 5mph, nearly had her at 70mph but couldn't quite manage it with a headwind but she will cruise quite happily at 60-65, and fuel economy is fantastic she has done just over 500 miles and is just about ready for her second tank filling although i did put in 5 litres about a month ago Laughing Thumbs Up

just for comparison,

She certainly is a head turner, there are some improvements that could be done but on the whole not a bad bike Very Happy

Looks like a dogging spot.
How on Earth does the bike move with all that extra stuff on it? Must be lightweight materials??
