Which security device would you pick if they were the same price?

Just bought a Yamaha WR125X and I'm trying to decide what's the best GPS tracker/security to have installed in the event it gets stolen as I live and work London.

The two options I'm currently looking at are:

1) Datatool TrakKING Adventure S5 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqGo_gPnMsg

and

2) Automatrics MTrack - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAr56x8lsuI

Any advise would be much appreciated! Or are there better ones I should be looking at? If price was not a factor in the decision making process, which one would you pick?

It will frequently be parked in motorcycle parking bays around London as well as on the street where I live in central London.. Sadly I think it's illegal to create an electric booby-trap or exploding dye packs like banks use in the movies lol God I hate thieves - this is one area where I agree with some Eastern nations where they cut the hands of people caught stealing.

I thought trackers were useless when surrounded with aluminium as in an interior lined van. ?
I would cover the bike and chain it to an immovable object.

Check-out that second video link I posted, or any on their channel:

https://www.youtube.com/user/AutomatricsMtrack

They use this RF gadget homing-device thing when the GPS is not working, like when the bikes indoors or underground or something. Looks really impressive how they locate them. Tons of videos of them using this technique. Reminds me of the gadget they used in the old ghostbusters movie lol.

BikeTrac.

There have been various people on here who had their bike successfully recovered thanks to BikeTrac therefore we like it. Mr. Green

As your bike will be stolen by kids who'll fuck around on it crashing and doing bad things to it until they get chased by the police, you have to wonder if you're really going to want the wreck / remains returned to you?

What you need to do is park next to a bike that's more desirable to thieves than your bike and that has worse security than you've got. Mr. Green

We're not being paid by BikeTrac to tell people to buy their product but perhaps I should talk to them about that. Laughing

Plus thieves these days can cut through anything, chains/D-locks etc. I want to do both, a chain, a disk lock (both I have) but I want some sort of device that can locate the bike if it's taken. The first option/link I put they call you if the bike moves while your not near it with this fob thingy, and if you say it's not you they immediately call the police and give them the live location as it moves (presumably in the back of a van). I'm just torn which one is the better option to buy..

Gotta ask: why have a bike that practically screams "steal me!" rather than something... well... more practical?

It’s a fun little bike to ride first and foremost, ideal for blasting through morning rush hour, it was in my budget, it’s one of the fastest 125cc stock, it’s no more “steal me” than some scooter, plus who doesn’t like a challenge Wink Guess that last one’s a touch redundant lol

Assuming you can only ride a 125...

Get a year's NCB on a boring bike. Then get something fun. That way you don't have to declare a theft, recovered or otherwise, straight away. It's London, on a hugely nickable bike. The scrotes love SM/Enduro/Crosser style bikes.

What's the location accuracy of those subscription trackers in terms of radius?

Have you found any success stories from owners of those particular devices?

Hmmm... suspiciously accurate. OK, what geofence radius do they recommend?

This is something you can decide when you setup the app re geofence. The one meter quote was only in RF mode (not gps).

I've decided to go with the BikeTrac and getting it fitted tomorrow. So thanks for that recommendation @ste - seems like the most substantial option. Also going to get a locking bike cover (so first makes the bike less visible) and by the time that get removed while both motion censer alarms are triggered and I get the call saying my bikes being messed with, I'll be running out (as will never be far away) to greet these low lives in the process.
