I'm assuming it's just your standard Chinese scooter in faux-italian clothing Smile

It only seems to "rattle" at higher revs Thinking Well, you're gonna have to pop the cover off the CVT and peek in and see what's loose. Hopefully something obvious as all the parts in there - variator, drive belt, clutch... maybe the starter sprag - are all easy to replace and pretty cheap.

Doh! I'm assuming again that that's where the noise is coming from!

Other thoughts: something loose is rattling on the engine case, big lump of shit in the fan or - and I do hope it's not this - mangled gears in the final drive (the "gear box" area from the clutch to the back wheel.)

It'll be the sound of your cunt lips flapping.

You are taking it to a bike garage...........get a parts exploded view for your scooter, so you know whats where and how much etc..

Is the back wheel spinning when the noise starts and seems to grow with revs and rear wheel speed.........sounds are like metal to metal and may be transmission related, but you say you went into a pot hole and the noise started after that???????

Get the parts exploded views.......

Exhaust and downpipes are in good shape? Nothing physically loose, like a heat shield?

It sounds like something metal that's loose and rattling with vibration.

I once had a quite peculiar noise from the inside of the final drive on my scooter, when I had one of the gears the wrong way around. The thrust washer on one side of the gear had too much free play and was tinkling as it rattled around. Flipping the gear fixed it.

Pop the beltcase cover off and see if there's anything obvious if it seems like the rattle is coming from there.
