Hey All

GSXR 750 k2

I’m having headlight alignment problems where my main beam is pointing lower than the normal beam! Am I right in thinking that the adjusters align both bulbs at the same time? If so, how the hell are they upside down???

I’ve got the normal beam aligned correctly and I’ve had the front fairing off and light unit out and can’t see anything out of whack.

Is it possible that I’ve turn the adjuster too far and somehow it’s reversed things??

Please, any help would be appreciated as it’s dark all the time now!!!

Is the bulb fitted correctly?

Hi

Yes, I’ve checked and both are fitted correctly. At first I thought I must have somehow fitted the main beam bulb upside down, but that’s not the case...

Are they two bulbs the same?

You couldn't have got the connectors the wrong way round somehow?

Hi

Yes, both bulbs are the same. When you say the connectors could be the wrong way round, do you mean if I’ve put the main beam connector on the normal bulb and vice versa?

I just wondered if it was possible to do that. It would reverse which bulb was coming on as main beam. Does the dipped beam go off or stay on when you change to high beam?

if you place the bike facing a wall ,turn headlights on and move the top left adjuster first to move the lamp in the direction you want, then the central adjustment to get that adjustment, then try it with dipped headlights and then main beam to see the pattern on the wall, should get you in the ball park area

It's normal for the dipped been to be higher to the left hand side than the main.

Is it a UK headlamp, definitley not an import?

Not unheard of for importers to de-solder and alter the angle the bulb sits in its base at to get "Left hand drive" import bikes through an MOT without changing the headlight lenses to UK spec. You don't notice until the bulb blows and you replace it with a standard one.

This would play hob with the beam position because the reflector is trying to send the light one way and the altered bulb is trying to send it the other.

Check the lens for an E-mark (letter E followed by a number in a circle) E11 is full UK spec.
