"Rotor" seemed more appropriate - one could hardly call it a brake "disk" Smile Brake doughnut? But then we get into proper ones having jam in the middle rather than 'murican holes Rolling Eyes

Very similar to rim brakes vs disk brakes on push-bikes with regards where the forces are going. However, the main driver for moving to disk brakes, especially on any sort of off road bike, is to keep the brake surface as far away from the muck as you can.

ZTL sounds like a great idea.... for dry, Californian roads Smile

Works fine in the wet here.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Only issue I ever found with the ZTL system was the disc warping due to the excessive heat experienced by the rather skimpy amount of material the pads are grabbing. Fixed the issue with the kit off EBR that mounts the disc on copper heat washers, making it easier for it to use the wheel as a heat sink. Both my 9k mile XB12 and this 1125 already have aftermarket EBC discs due to this.

Having said that, a new disc from EBC is 120 quid and there is only one of them. So it ain't the end of the world.
