Morning all,

A couple of friends from work and I have decided to do a little trip of 3-4 days together next year. Initially they were talking about doing the NC500 but I regularly ride up around northern Scotland so fancy something different. As such I was thinking about doing part of the Wild Atlantic Way. Europe is out, too much travel there and back from Glasgow.

So with 3-4 days I'm looking for recommendations as to the best parts
of the WAW to ride. Ideally with some single track and awesome scenery. We will probably be camping but a good pub or two would be nice. Bikes are Tiger 1200, Crossrunner (or CRF250L depending on route) and a bandit 600.

My favourite bits are Donegal and Connemara. Plenty of single tracks and views. Leenane hotel is a nice spot. We stayed there in June. Heading over to Scotland in April for a run, but will def be down to Connemara for a weekend in summer.

You need more than 3-4 days. Glasgow, Cairnryan/Stranraer, Larne will
take up most of the day in each direction. If you only have
three days, do the Antrim Coast going North from Larne or
Belfast and take the Ferry across the Foyle to North Donegal.
If/when you run out of time, you can always take the main
road back to Belfast or Larne to catch the return ferry.

If you can make more time:

The Clare coast is good biking country.

Also the N59 Galway/Mayo/Sligo. Not single track,
but lots of twisty sections and the surface is not so
good in places. The last time I rode on this road
there were road signs that said "N59 An Bothár Bocht"
which translates to "The Poor Road" in English.
At first, I thought they might be official road signs marking
some historic tragedy. It turns out
they were put there by local motorists.

Enjoy the Trip.
