Thousands annually, including my friend would disagree. I was offering a suggestion that he might not have thought of.

I accept what you say but I still think it's sick.

To me that's a problem about being not able to let go but I'll not go any deeper because this thread is about Fisty and his dog, not about grief and combatting it in general.

Agreed. It's macabre.

I mean, I dearly loved my Gran but wouldn't want her mounted on a plinth. Laughing

Quite frankly I don't want to see anyone's nan mounted. What they do in the sanctity of their bedroom is their business but I don't want to see their flappy bits flapping.

Yeah, no.

He is being cremated and then scattered at charmouth where he can hunt fossils and bark at the waves until I join him again.

Poor Porkster, a good ol' doggo. A brave and conscientious hound, with an insatiable appetite who I had the pleasure of spending a fair amount of time with.

had to make this decision myself a couple of months back

I had had roscoe from a pup for 19 years

he had gone off his food and couldn't walk anymore then a few feet

afterwe took him into the vets and the deed had been done I had to walk out and sat in the car blubbing for ages

we now have a six month old kitten called buddy who gets into all sorts of trouble
weirdly his favourite place to sit is on the back of the dofa under a picture of roscoe which is where he used to sleep

I feel your pain.

My fox red lab died suddenly from a cluster epileptic fit on the 25th November, He was 7 and he was my life.

It was f...ing awful and was not expected, the day before 7 mile walk, the next day dead. I didn’t eat for the first week and had to have time off work, the first week was just a daze.

Even today I went on the old walk with out him and I was stopped asking where he was.

He was such the typical lazy dog lying in front of the fire and fast asleep on a sofa, he mastered the art of pulling a throw over him.
He could walk of lead, the best simmer I have ever known and the only dog who played ball with a glow in the dark one.

He is buried in the garden and the was hard enough, I hit roots and I was too weak with grief, ultimately my mate came and helped, luckily my work aren’t cxnts.

I’ll never forget him.

That's what matters, well done for making the hard choice - it's the terrible part of the relationship.

See what the future brings, there are so many animals out there that need a decent human. You'll probably meet one sooner or later.

RIP small scruffy dog. Or rather, enjoy wuffing at the birds and hunting fossils. Peace is far too boring for a terrier.

Who would of thought it! .... in this place where we pull each other to pieces and spend our time disagreeing, there would be such compassion and empathy.

BCF isn’t so bad after all is said and done Thumbs Up

EDIT : thoughts with you Mr Fisty.

Many condolences indeed.
Take comfort in the fact that you gave a deserving soul the best life and made the best call when he needed it.
