 |
|
Hi,
As you probably all know, I'm still looking for a bike at the moment, and I posted in New Bikers about the FZR 250.
Spoken to the dealers about it, and they're prepared to do finance on it!
Would this be a good idea considering:
* I am 20
* This is my first bike ever
* I havent passed my CBT yet (Not that I'm going to ride it without)
I really want this bike though, it's a 1989 model going for £1500 and I don't really want a 125 as money is quite tight and I don't want to be changing bikes, I just want to do an intensive course and get on something that's not going to kill me straight away, but has a bit of oomph for when I can do accelerated access and take my restrictors out in June (If I get round to doing my test by then!)
Also, I want to get finance because I know in the unlikely event I can't make a payment, they will just take the bike away, instead of taking me to court which is what would happen if I got a loan.
Thanks for any advice guys,
Toby |

if there's a chance that you can't pay for it mate i wouldn't even be looking at it!
In the next few years when your looking at buying a house you'll need a fairly good credit history!
(Sound old dont i??)
But apart from that, if you like it then go for it, i've asked oppinions before and because there's so many people on here with different experiances and likes/dislikes, then on something like a bike you'll end up more confused!
if you like it, buy it

I think you may be confused confused
You do know that you cannot ride this bike until you have done not only your CBT, but your full test don't you?
You talk of doing your DAS in June and then removing restrictors, I don't suppose a 250 is generate more than 33bhp, which is what the restrictors are to restrict it to. But there is no point in doing your full test now, (which you would need to to ride a 250) and then DAS in June, you may as well hang on until June and just do the DAS, then you can ride anything you like. ____________________ Richard
