Why do you guys like "marge" so much, its fucking vile.

I'd much rather layer on thick soft butter.
I like it so thick you can leave teeth marks in it.

Through the whole of the desolate Margarine Is Healthy Years, I steadfastly refused to buy any and stuck mostly to butter.

I did buy margarine to keep one boyfriend happy.
But then he was weird: he couldn't stand mash.

I don't. Margarine is nasty. Sick

We buy our butter straight from the local dairy and it's lovely. It also turns out that butter is better for you than margarine too Thumbs Up

I prefer my bread to be wholemeal, multigrain, or the local Scandinavian sourdough. I like my bread to have flavour. Mr. Green

I daresay it's something to do with it being easy to get her to spread her legs?

I just feel with people's emotions running so high on such polarised views, a more balanced view should be put forward.

Both opinions are valid and in time we'll look back and laugh at the heated exchange in this thread.

It is a very contentious issue which needs to be resolved so we can all get on with our lives again.

No no ... I can see the attraction of toasted-on-one-side bread.

Soft on one side, crispy on the other.
Some kind of sensual mouth-feel thing going on there, but it does make sense in a weird kind of way.

But where would you put the butter?
Thinking on the soft warm white side, or on the crispy toasted side... Thinking
God. Tough call.

Easy. Do a toastie. Butter the inside that's next to the filling, butter the outside that actually gets toasted.

And dammit, make sure you spread the butter right to the edges, ok?

Thinking
Yes that's pretty much exactly how I make a grilled cheese sandwich.

Except I add a layer of piccalilli.
But without the chunks.
Just the yellow goo.

I knew a girl who'd put butter on the bread before putting it in the toaster......not a euphemism.

Pointless, messy and potentially dangerous. She was good value.

Are you saying if you give an ugly girl marge, she'll spread her legs for you?

The question now arises do you need more marge or less marge the uglier girl is?

If it's more, Jo Brand would need a dumper truck full.

But who could anyway Puke

Marginally, yes. Slightly lower saturated fats, slightly higher monounsaturated fats. I wouldn't want to spread it on my bread or toast though Laughing

Marge is the devil's sperm. Leave a tub of marge outside on a hot day and even the flies won't touch it. Don't know if this is true or not, but a professorial friend of mine says that marge is only one notch off plastic...

All this talk of brown or white bread, marge or butter, is all very well and good, and should not be dismissed lightly. But the real question is, smoked or unsmoked bacon? Everything else is just a sideshow.

You cant get bacon any more, it's all salt pork.

How much can I sue the producers for, for labelling it as bacon?
