No flippers required as the Dutch idea would be to keep water out rather than in. Or no flippers would be required unless the dam breached. Laughing

Well at least he's not a Terrorist sympathiser.

He can make all the mistakes he wants.

This thread though is laughable. Unemployment is at record lows for decades, GDP still rises year on year and the economy has been at its most fragile in recent years too due to brexit uncertainty.

Now watch as it booms.

I do wonder what the lefty loons will come up with then. Probably blame it on the left working extra hard to compensate for the rights inability to run the country.

Anyhow, I'm happy the country see fit to vote in Boris as PM. He's great.

BoJo: Serial Shagger and adulterer philanderer.

"Relationships
In 1987, he married Allegra Mostyn-Owen, daughter of the art historian William Mostyn-Owen and Italian writer Gaia Servadio. The couple divorced in 1993 and twelve days later Johnson married Marina Wheeler, a barrister and daughter of journalist and broadcaster Charles Wheeler and his wife, Dip Singh.[556] Five weeks later, Wheeler and Johnson's first child was born.
The Wheeler and Johnson families have known each other for decades, and Marina Wheeler was at the European School, Brussels, at the same time as her future husband. They have four children: two daughters and two sons.

Between 2000 and 2004, Johnson had an affair with Spectator columnist Petronella Wyatt when he was its editor, resulting in two terminated pregnancies. In April 2006, the News of the World alleged that Johnson was having an affair with Guardian journalist Anna Fazackerley. The pair refused to comment and shortly afterwards Johnson employed Fazackerley.

In 2009, Johnson fathered a daughter with Helen MacIntyre, an arts consultant. In 2013, the Court of Appeal quashed an injunction seeking to ban reporting of his daughter's existence. The judge ruled that the public had a right to know about Johnson's "reckless" behaviour.

In September 2018, Johnson and Wheeler issued a statement confirming that after 25 years of marriage they had separated "several months ago", and had begun divorce proceedings.

In 2019, The Sunday Times reported that, in 2013, Johnson had a sexual relationship with American technology entrepreneur Jennifer Arcuri.

In 2019 Johnson was living with Carrie Symonds, the daughter of Matthew Symonds, a co-founder of The Independent newspaper, and Josephine McAfee, a lawyer. Symonds had worked for the Conservative party since 2009 and worked on Johnson's 2012 campaign to be re-elected as Mayor."

Fidelity: A concept that is alien to The BoJo. (PMOTUK)

Sleeping around in itself is not a problem. Honey traps for example would a big problem.

And this is an immense, gigantic, cannot-possibly-overstate-it problem:

Quote:
one of (Arcuri's) businesses had received £11,500 in sponsorship money from a mayoral organisation when Mr Johnson was mayor and a £15,000 government grant for foreign entrepreneurs in Britain.

A further £100,000 grant was awarded to Ms Arcuri's company, Hacker House, by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport

This is our money. Of all possible uses of our taxes, how high does paying Johnson's "friends" rank?

I hear Infidelity is not a big problem.

Do you know why 'ordinary' people (and BoJo) end up in divorce court with its all consuming issues?

A person who shags everything they meet coz they're a spoiled narcassistic cunt is not the most best choice of personality to run the country.

So what if the affairs don't affect his decision/reasoning skills, it's the time he'll be forced to commit to sorting his civil mess out that counts for everything.
I have little respect for folk who shag-a-boot.
They obviously have little respect for their partner.
(Unless they've got some sordid personal shit that they are both into. 😲)

Meh. All governments come up with daft or harebrained ideas from time to time. I'm much more interested in watching their overall performance. I'm not going to vote on the basis of such a scheme/idea.

Yes and bitcoin is the future of everything.

And Boris Johnson has never, ever, not in his lifetime, ever colluded with Russians for £££, or happily remained silent over the existence of an ex IRA gun runner in his party. No siree, he ain't no terrorist sympathiser, who would ever think that.

I eagerly await the boom of the UK economy. No really I do, I mean it's not like the Tories are already several years past their original "We will balance the books" deadline, is it.

I think we make complimentary points and not opposing.

I don't argue that Johnson is not inept and unfit. He most certainly is and his private behaviour may very well be a good illustration of it.

However, by sponsoring a personal companion with our money he harmed us directly and personally. This money was taken from our pension, our dentist, our kids' teacher. Completely different league of nastiness.

Those sort of people tend to gravitate the position...

Bit heavy going but Wikipedia delivers:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_scandals_in_the_United_Kingdom

Sounds bad but on the Global Perception of Corruption Index (https://www.transparency.org/cpi2019) the UK doesn't do too badly. Certainly better than France which is enough to keep The Man On The Clapham Omnibus happy Smile

It was a desperate attempt. And from that (source: The Graunida First published on Sun 7 Dec 2008 00.01 GMT):

Last week a Tory local councillor was revealed as Maria McGuire, a former IRA activist whose revlusion with the organisation's terror tactics 36 years ago led her to flee to London accompanied by an Observer journalist. Here he tells that remarkable story.

In the late summer of 1972, a slight young Irish girl came to London and wrote a series of articles for The Observer which shook the Provisional IRA's Dublin leadership to the core, marked the beginning of the decline in their Irish-American funding and was widely assumed to have earned her a death sentence. Then she vanished.

For 36 years she made no further public appearances - until last week when, in the furtherance of some cheap political point-scoring during an education debate at Croydon council, a Labour member thought it might be amusing to reveal that Councillor Maria Gatland, the Tories' education chief, had once been known as Maria McGuire and had written a book called To Take Arms: A Year in the Provisional IRA.

Unchecked I'm sure the Left would have come up with a way of wrangling stoopid-ist or IQ-ist into the Equalities act. Thankfully the tide is turning.

Maybe we can get back to the time when Labour cared more about people than pushing idiotic ideologies.

Labour is a socialist party party of trade unions which were hijacked by communists.
Many labour party Mps elected through connection with trade unions.

But that aside Commrade Corbyn went Full Joseph on the commie front this time.
Labour party too weak to find a better candidate who can charm the party, the Labour voters and win over the opposition voters.

There's been a whole lotta politics in the last few years and not one decent politician has been the result.
