Okay, so it's been a hectic week, let me explain;
Firstly, my ignition barrel randomly decides to wear down, leading to a ignition barrel replacement, took it too a garage, £82 bill.
Then, my indicators both die on my left side, found out to be a loose wire on the relay, fixed!
Getting ready to ride, go outside~ the wind either pushed my bike over, or some rat decided my bike wanted to sleep, anyhow, the bike could have been on its side for 3 hours at most, i pick it up.
The upper cowl is pretty much hanging off, headlight is waving around, but the bike starts! great right? well, after no more then 2 minutes riding it down to the parent house, my RPM sitting around 5k, randomly drops, i put more throttle into it, it raises for a second, then drops again, until it cuts out.
Okay, i start pushing it, got bored of pushing, try to start it... it starts, great!, no more then 10 seconds later, it cuts out, and hasn't started since.
I've replaced the spark plug, checked for kinks in the fuel lines, it has fuel in it, but the bike just isn't firing, i'm getting fumes belting out the exhaust, but it just won't start, i'v even tried bump starting in second gear to no avail, i can only suspect a flooded carb at this point, but it's been sitting for 3 days now, and still won't start, all the electrics work too.
So, i'm thinking either flooded carb, flooded engine, or what i learnt recently is a damaged BAR (bank angle relay), or tilt sensor?
I know the bank angle relay is located behind the headlights, which took the most damage in the fall.
Any advice is appreciated (i'm not a mechanic, or that smart with bikes, but at this point i have nothing to lose).
Thank-you. |

Yeah, that's the bank angle sensor as Honda calls it~ now i haven't looked into this properly as i only saw this last night, but it would make sense it has something to do with this, as when the bike fell over, most of the damage was to the headlight/upper cowl, which is exactly where the tip over sensor is, when i get the chance, i'm going to look at the wiring today on this, i'm also going to remove the spark plug, and try to start it up, rag on the hole, and see if any oil comes out the carb, if no oil, i'll ground the spark plug, and see if i'm getting a spark, i'll keep you guys updated. |
