Had the Coronamanfluebola since Sunday, and was getting pretty fed up with hot toddies, tea and coffee. Asked the good lady wife to add a jar of Bovril to the grocery order which came earlier, and I've just had my first mug of it in about 45 years.

Wish I'd thought of it earlier in the week. It burns good.

Anyone else enjoy this filth?

Good with bread and butter, and a little bit in gravy is too.

I could never take it pure. I always took it the easy way in crisps.

It used to be standard fare at footy matches back in the 80's/90's when I used to go to Bristol City.

I quite fancy some but we are a Marmite house. Laughing

As a kid my mum tried to palm me off with a cup of Marmite when I wanted Bovril, telling me "it's the same stuff".

No, mum. No it isn't.

A spoonful of Bovril (or Oxo or the other assorted antipodean tar jams) in a mug of hot water is actually quite good for staving off hunger pangs between meals, for not many calories.

You might want to tell your pals in the BCFFC ( Laughing ) thread, to help them in their weight loss program.

OXO fan here. Tried Bovril and Marmite but nah - OXO all the way. Great with some bread and as mentioned, makes for a good warming snack.
As a side note: Sprinkling OXO dust onto ready salted crisps doesn't seem to work well.
