That was funny.

The plot however was a total rehash of the one Clarkson and co. did with the 4x4's, just not as spectacular.

I do enjoy it but they need to try and do something a bit different but I suppose the Beebs point of view is 'if it aint broke, don't fix it'.

Don't ask me where I saw it but I read an internet particle the other day there where Clarkson said that almost all of the stuff that he wrote for top gear was aimed at pissing off the BBC head Paedos.
He was just waiting to get run off if he went over the line. But the show was to valuable to the beeb.

Format might be tired but it works with the right people.

The current 3 are OK - although I really find McGuiness annoying. Flintoft is the surprising star of the trio for me.

Conversely the new Grand Tour I'm less keen on, prefer Hammond and May doing their own stuff and I don't think Clarkson is going to age well in terms of ongoing TV appeal.

Maybe best if he wound up on a shit breakfast show with that annoying ginger twat.

Wasn't aware that Mick Hucknel hosted Breakfast TV.

Did anyone notice that the rear end on Paddy's car was held on with badly welded steel construction piles made into a rudimentary cage? No wonder it failed!

I agree, Flintoff has really grown into the show this season, he and Chris have a good chemistry which is nice.

Last season felt a lot like Chris was being bullied for a few episodes, I'm glad that has gone too, it was uncomfortable to watch.

I can take or leave Paddy, he's like 10% too much at all times, if he'd just knock it down a little notch I think he'd be fine.

I saw ep 4. Whoever prepared their Baja car needs to be either given more time, or replaced with someone who knows what they are doing.

I can't stand Lawrence Fox.

£72,000 for a Renault Megane?

I like Harris's brief car reviews.

Lack of paddy this ep helped.

Flintoff does have form for being a (lovely) nutcase. Drunk Pedalo cricket antics aside, he also did a TV series going around the world doing extreme activities (Flintoff Goes Wild). Perfect setup for this.

I couldn't remember the name of the show, so went to have a look on IMDB. Jeeeezus he's done a lot of TV:

The Baja 1000 section was really disappointing (probably a bit more so for Chris and Freddie granted). Particularly bad for Chris, but no doubt he'll be back (albeit perhaps not via BBC).

They didn't pre-run the vehicle, probably down to time or money. Dakar or Baja. Not the kind of races you want to scrimp time or money on.
.....yes there are slower classes of vehicle (including a RWYB almost) that don't cost much. But they weren't in something that was particularly slow, so definitely needed more time (or money) to get it right.

He does have some minerals, I don't care how much H&S was done, no amount of money would've had me sat in that Metro convertible, hanging over a 500 foot drop, with nothing between me and disaster but some elastic rope.

But then I won't stand on a chair to change a light bulb Laughing
