I’m certain I’m not the first one who thought of this, but I use this method to reduce the bulk in my luggage on bike trips as each day passes whether I’m on a one overnight trip or longer. I stay in motels and take a shower and change my T-shirt, underpants and socks before starting out the next morning. At home I save old underwear that I would have tossed out, but take them for one last ride, discarding what I wore the day before at each motel I stay. I put these three items in one Zip-Lok bag for each overnight stay. I also take an old rag for cleaning bugs off the windshield and throw that away, too on the last day of the ride. No bringing back laundry when I return home and a lot less bulk. And you can use the empty Zip-Lok bags for whatever. Anyway, that's my two cents input.

Ok? Welcome to the forum.
Maybe introduce yourself and tell us a bit about yourself?
What bike do you ride?

And yes I do that as well.

Over the last week this forum has taught me there's money to be had by flogging used underwear.

Don't really see the point in this as for me, the issue is getting my gear down to a manageable quantity at the outset, ie on day 1. Having done that I don't see any particular value in reducing that amount over the duration of the tour. And pants and socks are pretty much the least bulky/heavy items I pack, anyway.

Nah, should've taken 93 sets of old underwear and socks, chucking out one each day.

Valid point, however personally I find it easier not have to lug around dirty laundry .
Whenever I tour, it fecking rains biblically and a pannier full of soggy wet old man pants is not for the faint hearted Shocked .

Also, on a motorcycle tour is the very last place I want to be wearing "washday pants".

Another thing is you don't throw pants out unless they are so heavily shitted that they can't/wont be cleaned or they have served additional time as a clean, then dirty, then oily rag in the workshop.

If you went on Stinkwheels 3 month tour using the OP's rules you would require 93 pairs of Trousers.

Is this why Goldwings have trailers?

If the aim is to reduce luggage you might as well manage with one spare of most things and if a quick wash out isn't possible buy more out there.
