Free meaning in the UK, legitimately without a TV licence, no paid-for subscriptions. Old TV may need wired connection, eurgh, not keen on that but could possibly use powerline adapter. Have Chromecast. Stuff on youtube is I assume possible, but what, if anything else, is possible/workable?

Channels four, five and ITV can be watched via catch-up services without having a TV licence.

Just don't have a licence, there's FA they can do about it unless you're an idiot (or they can see the TV on from a public viewpoint).
