Excellent idea. When the tannoy goes off in the petrol station asking you to take it off, remove it then pop in to pay and cough a lot whilst fanning yourself like a Victorian lady with an attack of the hot vapours would.

I'm using Isopropyl Alcohol diluted to 70% purity with distilled water. fnarr. Pure IPA coagulates proteins instantly, so a protective layer is created,
but adding water helps to denature the cell membranes, penetrate the cell wall and coagulate all the proteins. It will kill corona virus in 30 seconds, most household disinfectants will take 5- 10 minutes.
The slower evaporation also increases surface contact time.

It's not a bad idea to add some glycerol as a humectant to protect your skin from drying out and some 3% peroxide to prevent anything from growing in the solution. Thumbs Up

Chlorhexidine has some persistant anti-viral activity on your skin. Using it repeatedly will dry the hell out of it though and it's much more difficult to keep dry, cracked skin clean. Probably makes things worse.

Evil stuff, Mrs.Tarmacsurfer's hands get into a horrific state over the winter although it wreaks havoc all year around. One of the vets at her practice insists on using Sterillium, but they won't supply it to everyone.
