I recently attached cables to the battery on my bike. But fitting everything back together is problematic. I think I've used the screws on the body frame and now the remaining screws aren't long enough to reach the thread to reattach the seat to the bike.

Can anyone tell me where I might get 6x25mm screws with a hex head for a CB125R.

I've already tried a dealership which doesn't have it and would have to order it in. I also need screws for the side panels which oddly don't hold in place as they should.

So an M6 x 25mm hex-head set screw?

If you run, you might catch halfords/B&Q. Both will sell them. Tomorrow. No chance.

Might get them in a filling station too in a little pack in the section with fuses/spares etc.

It's surprising how 'available' nuts and bolts have become these days - can be had almost anywhere.
What I'd advise everyone to do is if you throw old machinery, engines, motors etc away is to dismantle them and save the fasteners. I started doing it years ago and now have many case fulls of them. I saved them to those organised plastic cases - bigger versions of the multi-pack screws you buy at Screwfix. Only time I've ever actually bought bolts was when they needed to be of a certain strength and type.

The problem is one of two things. The first I already mentioned. The second could be I have the right screws and I'm not applying enough pressure to force the screw into the thread. The screw on the negative terminal of the battery gave me a similar problem until I pressed down and secured it.

The dealership I phoned said the side panel screws are 5x25mm and the seat screws 6x25mm. It could be a case of I haven't given it a proper go? As silly as that sounds considering I've spent two days on this.

put a small packer under the nut ,then the set screw will pick up the thread of the nut.

Scratch the second post. I just took the body cover off and found one of the screws for the seat. I just need to find the other one. If not I can get by until tomorrow when I can get a replacement.

I hope, for the sake of the baby Jesus that all those used fasteners and accutrimen are indexed and inventorised in triplicate on excel and word. 🙄

Yes, I've always done the same, and keep them in the slide out tray of my B&Q rollalong toolbox.
Now I can hardly roll it! Laughing
Guess I'm just a hoarder of mechanical bits. Sad
