I like playing arounf with microsoft flight simulator. The new FSX 2020 looks great but no way my laptop will run it. I have a Dell Optiplex 380 gathering dust in a cupboard, could it be upgraded to run fsx 2020 Instead of me having to fork out for a whole new machine?

Dell specs https://www.cnet.com/products/dell-optiplex-380/

Fsx 2020 system requirements
Minimum Requirements, Predicted
OS: Win 7 64.
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz / AMD FX-8320.
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 380 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB.
System Memory: 8 GB RAM.
Storage: 50 GB Hard drive space.
DirectX 11 Compatible Graphics Card

Cheers

No chance.

The one you linked to is a Core2 Duo cpu. The minimum spec was i5, this is a massive jump from your old relic.

You’d need to replace everything to get it up to spec from motherboard, Cup, fan, heatsink, ram etc... buy a new pc meeting the required spec.

As above. NOT A CHANCE that Dell will work.

One good use for it would be if you stick another NIC (or two) in it, and use it as a Sophos UTM firewall. That's about all it's good for now.
