This woman, Aly Bond, makes fabulous bags and holdalls from old leathers. She tells some fantastic stories of how she repurposed leathers that have saved racers lives or that have sentimental value.

Occasionally you can turn up something odd and wonderful. My wife found someone who makes small toy animals out of... stuff. We have a little elephant made out fluff from our cat!

I like that idea, unfortunately the last set of leathers I had were so totally ruined by tarmac, blood and Paramedic's scissors that I doubt there would be enough intact and non-bloodstained leather to make more than a small purse. Crying or Very sad

I wouldn't want anything made from the leathers of a rider who'd had too many close calls in them either.
