Hi there,

my first post. I recently dug my Sinnis Trackstar out of the garage. And I can't get it to run. It starts on choke OK, but when I take the choke off it runs for a few seconds and stalls and if I keep the choke on it will run forever but as soon as I apply any throttle whatsoever it dies (even the tiniest amount).

The fuel is fresh, so I suspect it needs the carburetor cleaned because of the storage, as it must be a fuelling issue, is this a DIY job?

(it has fresh fuel, it's only done about 300 miles and was running fine when it went into storage) (I've had it since new)

Thanks!
(it has the K157FMI engine)

It definitely sounds like blocked jets in the carb. Cleaning it is fairly straightforwards and if I were you, as you will need to take the carb apart to clean the jets, I would do a full refurb with new gaskets etc.

I said this in another post , the other day

"It could just be a blocked main jet , caused by a small lump of corrosion in the floatbowl , caused by the shite, alcohol and dissolved water contaminated piss that passes for petrol nowadays."

sounds very similar.
