Where have all these police come from all of a sudden? For years you wouldn't see a single copper around our way, except for ones in cars with flashing lights, but now they are all over the place.... There was even a video-van looking for packs of feral youth and BBQs on the estate last night!

I doubt it is ex-coppers coming back, as the ex-coppers I know find the idea of swapping their pensioned existence for abuse truly ridiculous.

Off their computers looking for hate crime? Laughing They'll disappear as fast as they arrived once this is over.

I'd rather have the troops on the streets, it might make people think twice about flouting the rules after a few have had a bloody great gun shove in their lughole.

What is the obsession with BBQs anyway?

It's fucking MARCH, people do not normally have BBQs in March. Are they burning off all the bog roll because they can't get in the door of the house?

When I lived next door to some Turks who ran the local doner shop, they always had a bbq on christmas night.

Basically the only day the shop wasnt open.

No chance. The Met are upping their "hurty word" police campaign.

It only applies to disabled BAME LBGTQIA though and they're not interested in Labour MP's wishing death to white English straight men, such as the Prime Minister.

If you have Twitter, the comments show how silly most think the "hurty word" police task force is.

Lol... and there's me thinking it was just politicians out of touch. Hull Police being compared to the Gestapo by a judge somehow has filtered down to London Sad

I got stopped today. Was out getting stuff for the animals, made sure I'd only need to do one trip. Granted, there are fuckwits out there on bikes that hammering it. I hear them a lot, but I was stopped at the entrance to a fucking shopping area. One copper was fine, other was a complete douchenozzle. Actual questions and answers.

"Not essential"... well unless you fancy prosecuting me for animal cruelty, yes it is.
"Why are you riding a bike?" because walking would take about an hour and expose me to many more people, not to mention that I can't carry it all back.
"Why didn't you drive your car?" I don't own one, and currently don't have a license for one.
"If I see you out again..." I'm still working. I don't get a choice not to, you will likely see me again, do you want to see my letter explaining this?

His mate then gets him over for a look at the boy racer he just stopped and waves me on.

If they stop me, I just wave the key worker thing in their face but if I got pulled getting animals food (which right now looks like essentials as its all veg and fruit...) I'll tell them to do one, I'm happy to starve but my animals are not. Laughing

My employer gave me one of those to, but it's a lie, my role is not critical in the current crisis. I plan to work from home.

We're far from critical, but like a lot of companies, they're staying open as long as it's allowed. fuck the staff that are rubbing shoulders to actually do the job.

That said, last week showed everyone exactly what the company thinks of us. Once it's practical, a lot of us are out of there. I don't give the company long after that, it's all skilled people that are going, takes years to learn even the basics well enough to "get by" in a lot of the jobs, so it'll be a full blown case of Brain Drain. It's a pity, as I like my job, for the most part.

I'm a NHS worker with a 50mile round commute. Unfortunately my bikes not insured for commuting as it was an unecessary expensive at the time (can't get the bike out on my own ATM) but now it's the only time I would be able to use it.
The temptations there, but I too wondered if I would get questioned why the bike and not the car if I were to nip to the supermarket

My parents, brothers and I have been known to get a barbecue going in all seasons and all elements. I think our most recent barbecue was on Boxing Day.

Just a few scrolls down and they're sharing a televangelist, obviously making fun. Slightly hypocritical.
