Sad

I was expecting something more insightful than that.

From me?

I have too much dripping contempt and loathing for the kind of sub-human scum who feed on the addictions (vulnerabilities of others) to ever contemplate them enjoying so much as a penny of my money, never mind actually offering it up.

My missus tried bingo once though. She won £55 and never went back. Laughing

I bet £10 on Anthony Joshua to knockout Joseph Parker in round 1
odds was 20/1

Then paid £20 to watch said fight on sky and was well pissed off, the nob hardly threw a punch at all in the first round!!

I think he did it on purpose so i would lose my tenner... C*nt!

It does.
My relationship with my mother will never be the same.

Still ... if she hadn't gambled away all my money as well as her own, she would never have made me angry enough to have sent her the snottogram email which told her exactly what I thought of her choice of husband, and why.

Now with the recent death of my youngest sister, our family will probably never have the chance to heal the huge fracture that my mother's gambling has caused.

I'm not sure if that thread resurrection account is going to start posting spam but it's an interesting topic.

Gambling can be as serious an addiction as drugs or alcohol. It's very cleverly done too, I read something about how it's geared up to give you near misses, because this triggers your brain to release endorphins and keep going. might have been off this forum actually Embarassed

Old thread but “meh!”

I’m never ever going to lose a lot of money gambling cos I don’t gamble/bet.
I don’t put money in fruit machines or frequent betting shops.
I absolutely hate all this advertising for online gaming and would never go there.

A friend of a friend of someone I know got sucked in for £37,000.
Ended up in court and everything Crying or Very sad now that’s a problem.

Unless you call my two weekly Lotto tickets a problem?

That sort of addiction is frightening.

I like a flutter in a casino. When working abroad we used to go to casinos for the free drinks you got when playing the tables cos we were tight (never in UK). Laughing . We always used cash though, never ever took plastic out with us and used to watch each other just incase it got stupid.

The thing with these online ones is how quick it can mount up even if doing small bets. Watching that late night casino on ITV (usually when I've had a few and lost the remote) they have about 3 roulette spins a minute. A couple of quid each spin is £360 n hour Shocked

You can't make a statement like that without elaborating.

Careful what you ask for, that 'elaboration' is likely to be spam, and a link to some online betting.

Gambling can be a serious addiction, just like drinking. Most people can have a flutter, and I know a lot of people from golf who do the football betting so casual gambling. But it was pointed out to me that a drinking addiction would result in you spending no more than a bottle of whisky (say) before crashing out for the night, but with gambling you could literally spend thousands in one night.
