Proud 'mericans could never understand, that it's the average consumers with the middle class and lower middle class incomes, who keep the sales going. Meaning, you won't get rich selling expensive mass produced things that are just way out of the reach of such consumers. Even Apple had to start making lower budget iPhones, iMacs and so on.
But, back to motor industry. Bugatti, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, even Ducati... would be long gone if not bought by VW group. VW group uses Skoda, Seat and their own car brand Volkswagen, to make and sell affordable cars, that actually generate enough income so those luxurious brands could live on.
In Italy it's FIAT, in France it's PSA and so on. All making affordable cars/motorcycles, that people actually buy, which generates the needed income. For instance, if Ferrari hadn't been owned by FIAT, they would have probably been long gone now. Especially since the ''money is no issue'' era isn't coming back any time soon. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

So instead of making vehicles people can afford (or worse, encouraging them to maintain/improve the vehicles they already have) we alter the people - their financial situation at least - to fit the price.
Yes, that'll work out just fine ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
