Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum, so as a VL 250 Intruder that I bought last week (May 2020)....
I took the risk of buying a motorcycle sitting in a livingroom for 17 years on front and rear paddocks!

Now I need your opinions;
Before anything, I have to mention during transportation with my trailer, I left the fuelcock to PRI !!! And by the time I was home, I noticed gas running under the bike...

First I drain the old gas and fill with fresh benzine
Then I changed the oil
New battery
And I started the bike, because I couldn't wait any longer...
Stated up, but was overflowing gas from carb and smoke from pipes kind of heavy...
Quickly open the carb and cleaned it up ( needed cleaning for sure clogged needle )
Cleaned up and dried the spark plugs.
The problem solved with overflowing
Took it for a quick spin... was fine but not as idling

Now the bike starts easier, but doesn't want to stay on without choke!
And I it smokes after couple of minutes, also to me, it's a bit warming too soon (air cool)

Any suggestion or help will be appreciated
I don't know if I can upload a video to see what I mean, but I tried to explain the best I can! 🙄🙂

Thx in advance
Stay safe 😷
