Fair. With that context it makes a bit more sense. This is true, communication is key in a relationship, but I'd have a zero-tolerance policy with something like that myself, and would expect a bit more of a backbone approach from my S/O. There's no benefit-of-the-doubt approach with something that deliberate. It's not a mistake, it's a deliberate act with intent. That friend would get blocked and have to come grovelling to the both of us, which they would if the friendship meant that much. Also being a life-long friend doesn't give anyone a free pass to get away with being an utterly disrespectful fuckwit. If he's that willing to disrespect someone he's known for donkeys years it's quite clear what kind of person he is.

When you're in a relationship with someone, you've got to take a proper hard look at those friends who would find it awkward to be around the both of you at the same time.

Idk why I'm even making a point on the relationship side of things when mine have been complete train wrecks and I now just exclusively smash and dash.

That's because they are too busy vomiting or laughing.

There's a world of difference between when one is directly in front of you in person, as opposed to on a screen.

Being on the screen makes them much less interesting.

or

So its kind of unfulfilling, either way.

He needs to be dealt with... he's sending unsolicited pictures and has continued when being asked to stop.

Report him to the police and get him on the sexual offenders register.

What if he's sending this to other people who aren't as confident at articulating themselves? What if they're vulnerable?

This should be dealt with in the same way as a flasher.
