Have you purchased any protective equipment? Chaps at the least (ooh-er!), also boots and helmet with ear protection being next. A few views of (say) Stihl "how to do it" videos is also good.

Today I bought base plates for my helmet. I'd broken the hinge thingies a bit taking off the clear visor and putting on the mirrored one. Certainly there's a knack to it.

Nice surprise: a pair only costs £5.99 and take moments (and a hex key*) to fit. Vcan get my vote Smile

*I've had an orphan hex key sitting on my desk for weeks. Fecking hell, it's the right size!

8k on the clocks and absolutely mint. It's hard to get really good ones they get hoovered up really fast by people shipping them to Malta.

Yep.

Severely limits the number of available instruments, but also limits demand, hence they can be cheap.

I fancied a go at customising and did consider building from scratch, but I couldn't have bought the wood for what I paid for this, so this way I've got a working template - if I bugger it up, one of my neighbours can stick it on their BBQ.

A "Chillington County" wheelbarrow. 120 litres, bigger than the one I returned which was 85l, which had an odd angle so runny stuff would have spilt out of the front when barrowing. Galvanised body, too.

I don't need to fill the thing to capacity, after all, but it's nice to have.

Went to the Tesco garage, somewhat optimistically hoping they might have swede so I could have mash of some description with my sausages.

But there was none, so I ended up buying cauliflower cheese.

On my way out I went past the "going cheap" stash, and noticed some ricotta cheese going for 30p a carton. So I bought two of those as well, and went back for a bag of frozen raspberries.

Mashed half a bag of the raspberries up with a carton of the ricotta and stuck it in the freezer til after I'd had my snaggies ... fucking awesome.
Cool

What are you planning on doing to it? I've got a Rockburn guitar that's identical to that but it's right handed which I've been thinking about changing a little because it's very ugly with all the cheap plastic. I need to figure out why it never stays in tune first though, but I've got other better guitars to play anyway.

The plan is for some body sculpting (full roundover, belly and arm cut) reshaping the headstock and a refinish, then some new hardware, although electronically it all seems to work pretty well.

Actually, the working well bit is a problem - I was expecting to get a complete piece of crap, but it's almost too good to hack about. The only thing is, I have no idea what it's made of, but it certainly isn't the normal Chibson basswood, it weighs the same as a small moon, so the body sculpting might happen just to take some weight out of it.

Your tuning problem is probably the machines, those Asian klusons aren't very well made and they tend to slip, when the gears can be bothered to mesh at all.

Some white powder.
Laughing

Sucralose sweetener , as a result of which I am broadcasting to you from the wrong side of a mouthful of really vile tasting coffee.

They said one spoon equals one spoon of sugar.
So I put in two, cos I always take two.
But now it tastes like rat poison.

I've been surprising myself by thinking several times this week "I wonder if I can cope with sweetener instead of sugar" ... and now I know the answer.

Nothing else tastes like sugar.

I was given a can of Coke Zero while at a customer's last week and it just tasted like a can of chamicals!

Sweeteners in coffee taste horrible and leave a nasty aftertaste.

Noctua quiet fan.

The Hikvision 7608 NVR is far too noisy for domestic use - you can even hear it several rooms away!

Main culprit is the psu fan so I replace them with these, they're very good and come with lots of cable adaptors to fit just about any headers.

Also, if only powering a small number of cams I disconnect the case fan.

Coffee should not be sweet. Why do you ruin it with sugar. Give it a week without and you will get used to it, never want sugar again.

I can't drink espresso without sugar.

I wouldnt drink it with this disgusting sweetner but I could no way drink it without sugar.

Instant coffee, maybe, cos its just floor sweepings, anyway.
But not espresso.

So stick some sugar in it. 2 tsp x 6 cups is still only 200 calories, about.

You could use 1tsp of sugar and 1tsp of your sucralose mix, and it will be only 1 tsp sugar x 6 cups = 100 calories + 1 tsp x 6 of sucralose mix = 18 calories = 118 calories, about.

Yes, I am experimenting in just such a fashion.

It's not about calories, more about carbs, cos I wanna save them to have some pasta or mash at some point in the future Laughing

I just wanted to try the sweetener cos I had some "quite nice" sweetener (if you can call it that) at Margaret's place, once when I couldnt find her sugar ... but I couldn't find the stuff that she had, in the shops I went to.

Oh well *guitar riff*

Mmmmmmm.

It arrived complete with free spicy chicken wings and instructions that I should put some toilet paper in the freezer for later. Laughing

It's very nice and it's hotter than last time but they're going to have to do better if they don't want me to easily demolish the meal very quickly when they open their dinner place and start doing various spicy food challenges. Mr. Green

So, sugar suspended in liquid is one of the worst ways to take in calories, as I understand it. As there is no fibre to cushion your system, your liver will convert any excess sugar solution straight into fatty acids which then sit around your liver and eventually become fat. The layer of fat surrounding your liver makes your liver less efficient making the whole deal worse.

I watched a documentary when I was in the states a few years ago on PBS (there was literally nothing else on) and it scared me enough to give up buying Coke to drink at home. I do still drink coke but only when I'm out at a pub or something.
