I used a GPS position finder to negotiate cities in west
Africa (before car/bike satnav were available).
African cities do not believe in street names or even useful maps/A2Zs. All of Africa is a personification of disorder.
I'd set the target then use the compass to angle in on my destination.
It was do-able but missing a turn or turning too early could mean you lose any momentum stuck in a side street.
The beeline device looks like a development of the system I used.
Having a map (paper or digital) is 100 times better.
But that involves being wit-full enough to be able to.read a map. And it's hampered by other Edjits on the road. 😡🤣
