tl;dr Apple takes 30% of everything in their app store. No one likes this, no one's ever liked it and finally someone has the nadgers and, more importantly, the money to tell Apple where to go.

Lawyers across the land are whooping for joy as this may turn out bigger than Apple vs. Samsung or Oracle vs. Google.

You think 30% is bad? Clips4sale take a whopping 40% and only pay out once a month meaning you are waiting for your money for ages. Yoogirls can rob a pocket drilling 65% in some cases!

30% seems fair to me.

Spotify and a number of others tried the same thing as well previously only their argument was for 10 quid a month, Apple are taking 30% of that, whereas for their own Apple Music, they can charge the same price and keep all of it.

Totally agree that 30% is a piss-take, especially when they don't allow installs from other sources, or even links in the app to the website to purchase a subscription outside of the app itself.

I think we're getting into the real meat of it. It's not so much about Apple's 30% cut but a clash of monopolies: Apple have their walled garden and Epic have Unreal Engine.
