I was thinking something similar but more along the lines of with the onset of recession our s#itty service based economy is going to collapse the country like a house of cards but whether we are in or out of the EU makes no difference.

The Limp dems might want to take us back into the EU.

But the French might have other ideas.

Remember when the EEC formed in the 1950s, France adamantly refused to let us in. It really sounded like playground stuff: Group of 6 countries, 'no you're not allowed in, I don't like you'.

For some reason, after WWII, France really started to hate us. I've never understood why.

The only way we'd get back in now is if we pay France lots of money.

Let's see now...

We started fighting the French in 1106 and finished in 1942 (Vichy France.) No, I really can't see why the French don't like us.
