Shame, but not really the bike's fault. You are missing out, they are good bikes.

2. I don't rate the looks,

Yeah but what bikes are truly good looking these days? The RSV4, Ducati Panigale V4, IMO the Katana, the Z900RS... that's pretty much it. I do think the naked GSX-S1000 does look alright, probably better than the F but it's not a 'good looking bike'. I have the older Street Triple and that's not really what I'd call a looker. The closest thing I have to an actual looker is probably my knackered old CBR600RR trackbike - and that's a bit fussy looking for my tastes.

3. Made in Thailand - go fuck yourself Triumph.

Yeah I'm not suuuper happy about that, but Thailand is pretty much the far east's centre of manufacturing exellence (short of Japan which has high labour costs). They make pretty much all the worlds hard discs there which requires immensely tight manufacturing tolerances. It's not like China where they'll steal your intellectual property and be making knock offs of your product after hours.

I like my made-in Japan super-naked and for me it's not about pure performance, rather it's how it makes you feel.

Is made in Japan that much different from made in Thailand? Not really. But I agree wholeheartedly on your second point.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Reminds me of the snobbishness of American vs Mexican Strats. And then it turned out that Mexican ones were actually kewl and it was the Far Eastern ones. Rinse, repeat.

Thailand is still cheap labour and is already seeing a massive environmental impact due to all the manufacturing etc. (3rd worst air quality in the world recently) here

But investing in the UK manufacturing industry or screwing 3rd world countries don't matter to shareholders, right?

Also, annoys me that Triumph sells on the back of being a UK brand - just check out how many Union Jacks are in their clothing range..

Ducati can make bikes for Europe, in Europe. Why can't Triumph?
