Has anybody done a trip in Canada, and have any advice, tips, cool stories etc? Advice on shipping a bike over and back also greatly appreciated

I'm hoping to go touring there for 4 weeks in July / August 2020. I've heard that there is now a RORO service to transport the bike to Halifax on a vehicle transporter rather than freighting more traditionally.

I might consider dropping into the USA for a bit if anyone has advice on border crossings / visas for the USA and whether it would be a ballache with a UK bike.

Looking forward to your tips and stories

I shipped RORO to Halifax in June last year.

It's expensive, for only four weeks consider renting. It's going to cost you near on £2000 all in to get the bike there and back, insurance is a pain too.

Never had any issues on the road, didn't get stopped once, and that was with an antisocial big single on a loud pipe.

I then went into America and shipped back from LA.

Canada is great. Everyone is really friendly.

A couple of years ago Richy Vida did a big US tour starting in Canada, they flew the bikes over in a crate and I think it wasn't as much as you'd expect - he'd give you advice.
