I bought some grub from Pret at Victoria Station.
I've not bought stuff from there since before corona, but I was having a comfort-food moment.
It tasted really weird.

Well, the macaroni cheese was okay, and so was the almond croissant.
But the bircher muesli*, and the mango and banana Sunshine Bowl** were both rather nasty.
*/** (these may be words many of you do not understand, they are supposed to mean "healthy food" but actually they aren't all that healthy)

Its given me a bit of an insight into the whole mass-produced thing.
The incredible samey-ness of it, because everybody likes it to taste exactly so.

Rather pleased I've mostly gone back to making things from virtually scratch, as to whatever level of normality fresh meat and veg has left, at least I can make it taste different than what everybody else is having.

Certainly it must be frustrating to have one's uglier colleagues having better vision, simply because of an alteration in spider DNA several aeons ago.

I'd be quite cross about it if I were a eleventy-seven-eyed spider with no discernible ocular superpowers.
